The term of Colonic Irrigation or Colon Irrigation was defined as a process of removing waste material from the rectum or colon using liquid solution. Colonic irrigation is done to eliminate toxins from the whole colon and not just from the lower bowels. Colonic irrigation was used as popular form of therapy not only for colon treatment, but also treats everything from infections to kidney disease to heart disease to depression

Muscle contract from the water in the colon forces the fecal matter out through an evacuation tube that leads back to the colon irrigation machine. The process needs 20 to 30 gallons of water to be flushed trough your colon. This colonic irrigation treatment usually takes 30 to 50 minutes and in this process time, you will feel a warm sensation as the toxins and fecal matter leaves your body. Don’t worry, it’s no pain that should you feel.
Most practitioner’s advice to take colonic irrigation session every 3 to 6 months for maintaining well function of your colon. You can take two to eight sessions on each time depending on the built –up fecal matter in the colon
It is important to consider that people who have Cohn’s disease, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, tumor of the rectum are should avoid colonic irrigation therapy.
